Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

Vincennes University, in cooperation with Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center is pleased to offer a growing specialty practice of nursing recognized by the American Nursing Association as Faith Community Nursing. This non-credentialing course is designed to introduce and prepare registered nurses for the specialty practice of faith community nursing.
This 36-hour noncredit course is designed to introduce and prepare registered nurses for the specialty practice of faith community nursing. Faith community nurses are licensed, registered nurses who practice wholistic health for self, individuals and the community using nursing knowledge combined with spiritual care. They function in paid and unpaid positions as members of the pastoral team in a variety of religious faiths, cultures, and countries. The focus of their work is on the intentional care of the spirit, assisting the members of the faith community to maintain and/or regain wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.
This class is a hybrid class with a majority of the training done online. Will also require face-to-face meetings in Jasper, IN on March 17, 5 – 9pm, April 7, 5 – 9pm, and May 5, 5 – 9pm. (All times are EASTERN.)
This Faith Community Nurse Foundations course is based on curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing, which curriculum is owned by Church Health Center of Memphis, Inc., 1350 Concourse Ave., Suite 142, Memphis, TN 38104.
