Health Ministry Dinner Gathering 2019
November 15 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-6$20 – $40
This event provides continuing education, resources, and networking opportunities to individuals who are interested in starting or enhancing health ministries in their faith communities, as well as in the general public. Attendees will consider what is working and not working within their ministries, how they can acquire needed resources and volunteers, and community programs that may help care for people in need within their faith communities. This gathering is expected to draw parish and faith community nurses, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse practitioners, clergy, health minsters, pastoral and social ministers, physicians, health and social service professionals, licensed professional counselors, health care educators, nursing students, seminarians, and others interested in promoting whole-person health. Our guest speaker’s presentation will concentrate on the insights of Bowen family system theory, and learn how families shape us as caregivers. We will explore differences in caregiving patterns and learn to transform “over-helpfulness” urges into help that promotes growth and resourcefulness in others.
