Health Ministry Virtual Meeting... Peer Support, Learning & Conversation

The Pittsburgh Mercy Parish Nurse & Health Ministry Program offers a hybrid Foundations Course meaning it is both classroom virtual presentations (private Zoom invitation) and online learning modules via HealthStream. Our focus is on the adult learning with small and large group discussions, case studies, storytelling with life application, creating spiritual care boards, self-care plan, daily particpant reflections, healing service, and much more. Our adult learners excel in a safe, non-threatening learning environment that encourages questions with deep spiritual reflection. Our course is uniquely designed by our Pittsburgh Mercy Parish Nurse Team so to encourage opportunity for spiritual awareness and group faith sharing. After all course requirements are completed, we have a commissioning service on the last course date... by welcoming RNs to be commissioned as faith community nurses, and LPNs and others to be commissioned as health ministers. Our course instructors have diverse backgrounds and are content experts in the fields of practice they are presenting. Our course instructors have many years of health ministry experience as both salaried and non-salared faith community nurses. Particpants are required to purchase the Participant Guide (course textbook) before the course begins on September 23, 2022.
