As a personal introduction and concerning my work in foreign missions, I am Joan Appleton, faith community nurse since 2014 and a certified lay minister in the United Methodist Church. I began work in Ethiopia in street ministry, teaching in Bible conferences, and church planting in 2016. In 2017, I began to lead medical missions through a nonprofit organization that I helped start in 2017 to support an existing ministry in Ethiopia and other African countries surrounding Ethiopia. Our clinic is housed in a private school in Dukem owned and administrated by our leading Ethiopian director, his wife, and one of his daughters. I have done medical missions also in Honduras with other medical teams. Concerning a background picture for this mission-minded FCNs group, I am looking now through my pictures from our last 5-week mission in Ethiopia in 2018. I am looking for a picture that does not include persons but of the countryside and that reflects the culture and essence of foreign missions. I will be leading another medical mission in 2022 to Dukem and welcome anyone who is interested in serving. Many blessings to all!Show more4 years ago

I believe it would be a nice background picture which depicts remote foreign lands.Show more4 years ago
