OVERVIEW
Perspectives is a publication for all nurses and other professionals interested in spiritual care and the specialty practice of faith community nursing. Each issue of Perspectives contains feature and academic articles on topics related spiritual care and faith community nursing as well as news and updates from the Nursing Division of the Spiritual Care Association and the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing, tools and resources for practicing FCNs and others working in spiritual care, and community building articles relating to the specific practices of individuals working in spiritual care and faith community nursing both in the USA and internationally.
Some feature articles also provide Nursing Continuing Professional Development Contact Hours (CNE). Spiritual Care Association Nursing Division is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

PERSPECTIVES ARTICLE TYPES
Feature Articles
Feature articles must be in APA format and cover topics related to nursing spiritual care best practices for faith community nurses as well as nurses in other practice settings. Feature Articles including CNE should range between 4,200 and 4,900 words including references, tables, and illustrations. Feature Articles not including CNE should range between 1,400 and 4,200 words.
Research Articles
Research articles must be in APA format and cover topics related to current research in the field of faith community nursing and spiritual care. Research Articles including CNE should range between 4,200 and 4,900 words including references, tables, and illustrations. Research Articles not including CNE should range between 1,400 and 4,200 words including references, tables, and illustrations.
Academic Articles
Academic articles must be in APA format and cover topics related to best practices, education, and other aspects of the field of faith community nursing and spiritual care. Academic Articles should range between 1,400 and 4,200 words including references, tables, and illustrations.
FCN Perspective
An FCN Perspective article relates to the practice of a specific FCN or group of FCNs. (800-1,200 words)
Spiritual Care Nursing Perspective
A Spiritual Care Nursing Perspective article relates to the practice of a specific spiritual care nurse or group of spiritual care nurses. (800-1,200 words)
International Perspective
An International Perspective article relates to the practice of a specific FCN, parish, or spiritual care nurse or group of nurses working outside the USA. (800-1,200 words)
Interdisciplinary Perspective
An Interdisciplinary Perspectives article relates to the practice of a specific person working in a discipline which interacts with nursing, such as chaplaincy, social work, or clergy. (800-1,200 words)
Resource Reviews
Resource review articles focus on one or more recently published or developed and available tools, books, or other resources relating to faith community nursing and spiritual care. (800-1000 words)
Reproducible Resources
Reproducible resources can include items for use in faith communities or networks such as devotions, prayers, relevant quotations, informational posters, etc. All reproducible resources must be under a creative commons license or provided with express written permission of the author or artist. (500 words)
