As a Spiritual Director, sometimes we come across people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The book "God does his best work with empty" by Nancy Guthrie is one of may favorites. We are reminded that emptiness has never been and never will be a problem to God. In fact, emptiness is used by God... and replaced with His grace, hope and love. I recommend this book for any directee who is struggling. Or a FCN who is working with people who need to know that their worth and value is in God. Life struggles are tough some days, so feeling "empty" is when God can do great work in us. He sees it as a great opportunity to change us.
Also, I am willing to facilitate a monthly/bimonthly group book discussion for FCNs/Spiritual Directors starting in the New Year January 2023. If interested, just let me know. I think we will have a great time for peer learning and shared conversation. One hour for each session. I am open to new books. One book that is my favorite for group discussion is "Devotional Classics: selected readings for individuals and groups... a resource for spiritual renewal" edited by Richard J. Foster and James Bryan Smith. Keep me posted, if interested. Happy Thanksgiving Blessings to all.
