It’s almost time for the next free writing group gathering!
If you missed last time, we hope all is well and that you can join us.
To recap:
We discussed what to work on first and decided on a journal article. Several are also working on book outlines. We learned about predatory publishing and vanity presses. If you missed this segment go to www.sharonthinton.com and click on the blog tab to find the information…just look for the picture of the cat with the magnifying glass.
The writing challenge was to create a title and short paragraph about the topic you will be writing about.
Next, we created a byline: your name, credentials and/or titles and a paragraph about why you are the one to write about your topic. Why does it matter to you? What does the reader gain from reading your article?
This week we will focus on solidifying your topic, how to choose possible places to publish your article and how to comply with submission guidelines.
