This course is based on the 2024 Revised Curriculum from the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing owned by the Spiritual Care Association, New York, NY>
Faith Community Nursing imparts close attention to an individual’s spirit, where
praying and addressing spiritual needs are also supported. Individuals, groups, and the surrounding community come to this ministry, at times, feeling hopeless and helpless. The RN who accepts the call is caring, compassionate, and a servant-leader with a strong sense of faith and hope. In return, they receive “…the most rewarding job that God has given me. I feel… like I’m fulfilling my purpose, and the reason I became a nurse.” (MF-2016)
The Concordia College Parish Nurse Ministry Program will be offering the Foundations in Faith Community Nursing educational program using a hybrid format. The schedule is as noted: 3 sessions via ZOOM (March 5, 12, and 19, 2026) from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm CT, and 3 sessions in person (April 9, 10, and 11, 2026) from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm CT on Th/Fr and 7:30 am to 2:30 pm CT on Sat.
