Official Definition of Community Nursing Discussion

I am sharing a post from Deb Fell-Carlson.
Several of us just met in a Westberg Institute research meeting and we were sharing what we each know about where we are in our states with creating a reimbursement pathway for our work as faith community nurses. We talked about National Provider Identifiers and the American Nurses Foundation Direct Reimbursement Model Initiative. Melissa Isavoran, a principal consultant with Vibe Health Solutions, did training for our Oregon team recently and shared that the Community Health Registered Nurse listing in the NPI Taxonomy has NO definition. You can see it here. It says "Definition to Come..." and has been sitting there since 2002.
That definition needs to include faith community nursing!
The Taxonomy Code people are meeting in August! It is a public meeting, and it would be advantageous to have a bunch of FCNs in attendance! I will be traveling across Montana about then, headed for the Black Hills, but will join as much as possible.

NUCC August 14, 2024 Hybrid Meeting
The NUCC will hold its next meeting open to the public on August 14, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:30 pm CT. A joint meeting will be held with the NUBC from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CT.
Meeting Location: American Hospital Association office at 155 N. Wacker, Chicago, IL.
Virtual attendance is available. Non-Committee members can only attend virtually.

The draft agenda will be available shortly.
I am looking forward to attending this meeting and hope several FCNs will be there too.
