Nurse Planner Training
If you want to provide ANCC Accredited Contact Hours for your Foundations course, other presentations, or educational meetings but do not have an Accredited Provider Unit in your organization or area, you are welcome to apply to become a nurse planner affiliated with the Westberg Institute through the Spiritual Care Association Nursing Division. We will train you to become a nurse planner affiliated with our provider unit following ANCC standards.
Nurse planners are registered nurses with current unrestricted state, compact state or international equivalent licensure.
Requirements
• You must have at least a BSN
• Experience with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of continuing nursing education activities according to ANCC standards *You don’t have to be an expert, just willing to follow protocols*
• A working knowledge of adult education principles
• Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
• Attend all nurse planner education training and updates
• Follow SCAND Provider Unit Policy & Procedures
• Adhere to ANCC accreditation criteria
• Lead the planning committee for each event you are providing
• Return all required forms for application and summary sheets after your event in a timely manner
The next nurse planner training and ANCC update is scheduled for January 15, 2025
Starting at 1 pm eastern, noon central, 11 mountain, 10 pacific.
The meeting will last for two hours and will have pre-class reading and a post-class individual follow-up with the NPD Director

If you are currently a SCAND approved nurse planner you are required to attend.

Administrative fee for ANCC accredited Provider Unit Joint Provider Activity
**Joint Providers must be previously approved by the SCAND Director and have completed the annual nurse planner training**
A. Foundations course 36.5-40 hours - $350 non SCA member is nurse planner
$275 SCA Member is nurse planner
B. Individual activity
1 contact hour - $100/SCA member $75
1.1-3.0 - $150/125
3.1-5.0 - $200/175
