Our ANCC approved course is taught by 9 advanced degreed faculty, most of whom are experienced FCNs. We share real-life experiences along with quality content and interactive learning methods. The Transitional Care course is designed to provide the faith community nurse with background knowledge on the needs of community members who are in the process of transitioning in care. This might include from the hospital to home, from the hospital to the nursing home, from the hospital to home with hospice, and many other transitional times.
15 hours of nursing continuing professional development are being offered by the West Virginia University School of Nursing. The West Virginia University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Registered nurses of all faiths are invited to attend the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing training course. The course begins with a self-paced interactive discussion board and continues with virtual sessions.
Faith Community Nurses draw a closer link between their faith and healthcare communities by acting as health educators and counselors to a faith community membership, as well as assisting with homebound, nursing home, and/or hospitalized congregation members. Through this nondenominational program, participating registered nurses receive continuing education hours, as well as the support and resources necessary to implement a Faith Community Nursing health and wellness ministry in their own congregation.
Established in 1997 by Carle Health, the education has been delivered to over 550 nurses from across the country who have found joy in serving their respective faith communities.

Faith Community Health Network is partnering to offer the Foundations for Faith Community Nursing for licensed registered nurses and a parallel Foundations for Health Ministry course for retired nurses (with inactive licenses) and faith community lay members. The course is six sessions held on Zoom from 8am – 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays: October 16-17, 2023, October 30-31, 2023, and November 13-14, 2023 providing over 40 hours of supported instruction. Course cost includes four books and 40+ continuing education contact hours. Cost for the six days of training is $275 for residents of Linn, Benton or Lincoln Counties in Oregon and $325 for out-of-area residents. We will host an in-person reception from 6:30pm - 8:00pm on November 14, 2023 for those who can attend. This course is open to - and welcomes - all faith traditions. The course typically averages about 10 hours of coursework per week. The course is offered in a modified asynchronous format so that participants can learn from discussion and interaction with one another, without having to be online at the same time.
